Traditional acupuncture is a system of health based on ancient principles which are over two thousand years old. Chinese medicine loos at pain and illness as signs that the body is out of balance. The overall aim of acupuncture and chinese herbal treatment, is to restore the body’s equilibrium. They connect the physical, mental and emotional believing that balance in all of these areas isimportant for good health.
Acupuncturists are trained to use subtle diagnostic methods that have been developed and refined for centuries. The focus is on the individual, not their illness, and many sets of symptoms can be related using this theory.
Traditional acupuncturists believe that the underlying principle of treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body’s qi, or vital energy, cannot flow freely. There can be many reasons for this; emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection or injury are among the most common. By inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, a traditional acupuncturist seeks to re-establish the free flow of qi to restore balance and trigger the body’s natural healing response.
There are many different styles of acupuncture which share a common root but are distinct and different in their emphasis. You may see ‘TCM’, ‘Five Elements, ‘ Stems and Branches’, Japanese Meridian Therapy, and many others, all of which have their passionate followers and are established branches of acupuncture in their own right with a large amount of evidence behind them. A growing body of evidence-based clinical research shows that traditional acupuncture safely treats a wide range of common health problems.

Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that treats the whole person, taking into account their individual physical, mental and emotional condition.
It works on an energetic level to stimulate health and the body’s natural ability to heal.
Homeopathy is the second most widely used system of medicine in the world. It has been used for hundreds of years, but has increased in popularity in the last decade with greater availability of information through the internet and wider acceptance of complimentary therapies.
Homeopathy was developed by German Doctor Samuel Hahnemann in the 18th Century. Homeopathy means ‘similar disease’ or ‘like cures like’ and is based on the principle that a substance which can cause certain symptoms can also be used to cure them.
For example, an onion can cause streaming, burning eyes and the remedy allium cepa made from onion can be taken for a cold with that symptom. Although another person may experience the same cold, but with different symptoms and therefore require a different remedy.
The majority of homeopathic remedies are made from natural substances. They are not addictive and completely safe from pregnancy to old age and will not interact with any conventional medical treatment you are taking.
Homeopathy works in harmony with your body unlike some conventional therapies, for example cough medicines suppress the cough reflex which is the bodies attempt to clear the lungs.

Kinesiology was originally developed by an American chiropractor called George Goodheart. He found that by testing muscle response before and after he made chiropractic corrections he achieved better results for his patients. Kinesiology works on the principle that by testing muscle strength against resistance the practitioner has a feedback system for the body that can evaluate the structural, chemical, mental and emotional aspects of of a patient’s health. This gives the kinesiologist a picture of what is happening in your body and how this may be affecting you.
Our group practices a variety of different types of kinesiology though many of us who have trained in Therapeutic Energy Kinesiology (TEK) which was developed by Dr Adrian Brito-Babapulle. TEK allows assessment of vitamins and minerals, emotional and physical imbalances in the body. During the testing process all imbalances are corrected by remedies and essences which put your body into the best state to heal. TEK testing can also be used to check any homeopathic remedy or substance against the body which makes any prescription more accurate.
